Women Unabridged

Women Unabridged is St. Peter’s women’s book group.
Who are we? We are all the women of St. Peter’s, plus any guests or friends, who would like to participate. We are all ages, abilities, and stages of life. We share fellowship, and our meetings may also represent a respite time for some of our busy lives. Because most of us are already serving church and/or community, we are not a service group.
What do we do? We meet every month, generally on the first Tuesday, in the evening. We usually enjoy a potluck dinner at a member’s home, but sometimes have an after-dinner, tea-and-dessert meeting at the church in the fellowship room downstairs. We choose a book for every month and spend some time discussing it at the meeting. Books are chosen sometimes by theme – for example, February is Black history month, April is poetry month – or it could be a book that a member feels is meaningful for her and so recommends to the group. We try to pick books with many copies easily available through the Mid-Hudson Library system, so as not to impose the expense of buying books on anyone.
Any woman who is interested in Women Unabridged can simply come to a meeting or contact anyone who participates in the group. (If you’re not sure whom to talk to, contact the church office to be put in touch with one of our members). You are welcome to join us any time!
